NewGen is seeking Systems Administrators with Weblogic and WebSphere Systems Administrator experience on LINUX/UNIX to provide Level 2/3 Operational and Maintenance support for a homeland security mission. This involves monitoring health of the systems on a daily basis, escalating any issues to other groups as necessary and following thru the resolutions. It also involves regular maintenance of the application(s) and ability to support on-call duties in support of application(s). They are the first line of a technical "system" support with the mission of ensuring 99.999% availability. Working closely with the Operators, these Support Engineers will investigate issues identified through the alerting tools or through systems checks and maintain these systems in good operational condition by patching and interaction with IBM and Oracle Support.
Job Duty 1: Ensure system availability by ensuring servers are patched to the latest levels and building new servers in support of CBP Mission - 20%
Job Duty 2: Work with other teams and other expert teams to close out all issues while keeping Management Reports- 20%
Job Duty 3: Participate in walk-thrus of deployment plans and implementing deployment areas - 20%
Job Duty 4: Coordinate requirements for operational issues and follow thru the creation and implementation of change requests - 20%
Job Duty 5: Work with the monitoring perform health checks, generate required reports and manage all reported alerts. - 20%
• Operations and Maintenance background. Strong trouble shooting skills. Fast learner.
• Significant experience with IBM WebSphere and Oracle Weblogic Servers
• Significant knowledge of Cloud Systems
• Good Unix shell Scripting skills
• Strong UNIX/LINUX experience
